Why Gorgeous Grandma.com?

This website has been created to proudly spread the word that many of us Gorgeous Grandmas (and Gorgeous Grandpas too) will not, and cannot, be categorized.

Even though television and the press glamorizes youth and makes us older folk feel oftentimes undervalued, the “senior citizen” label can no longer describe a feeble, antiquated person who is treasured only as a volunteer or a babysitter. Indeed, the majority of us are far from powerless, sickly, frail, helpless and impotent.

Too, this website expresses a rebellion in a way - my own - and yours. Many in our group have shown me, and told me, that they are beginning to revolt and to fight back in order to counteract their feelings of being invisible.

Other murmurs are just as loud, however. Many of our same crowd have told me, and shown me, that they do believe they’re over the hill! A number of our same-generation sisters do talk about giving up. They cry and they moan that they are too old to learn something new, to look the best they can look, to be the best they can be.

im31.jpg (23983 bytes) Let us not forget our single, widowed, and divorced sisters over fifty. They confide, in a more subtle manner, that their needs are being totally overlooked! Aside from singles clubs, no one has ever thought to notice that the over-fifty singles ranks are growing at an extraordinary rate.

For whom, then, has my newspaper column, books, radio shows,and this website been conceived?

For that woman, fifty, sixty, or seventy, who loves life and all it has to offer.

For that woman, fifty, sixty, or seventy, who does not want to live out her life reluctantly or passively, or be ignored.

For that single woman, fifty, sixty, or seventy,, who is single and perhaps lonely and needs encouragement on how to begin again.
